Episode 30

Gail paced back and forth in her room.  She stopped before her door, looking at it anxiously, but then paced quickly back again, arguing with herself.  “It may work out just fine...but...no, what if it doesn’t?  And—what if I could stop it?”  She stopped before the door again, and made up her mind, taking a deep breath.   “I’m going.  I don't care.  I have to go.”

She pulled the door open and walked out quickly before she could change her convince herself not to.




Miah turned as she heard the door unlocking.  It opened, and Gail rushed in. “Miah,” she panted.

“Gail!”  She stood and steadied herself, waiting for her head to clear.  “I....What are we going to do?”

The blonde walked to the bedside.  “He might come out of it.”

“Might?”  She searched Gail’s face for an answer.

“There’s nothing we can do for a coma, Miah.  He needs an IV, though.”

Miah nodded.  “I’ll stay here.”

She laughed.  “Yes. You do that.”

The girl left the room, and Miah lowered herself to the floor where she sat against the wall and sighed.

“Wake up…” she whispered, putting a hand on his shoulder.  “I'm surrounded by people I don't know, except for you...please, wake up, so I can know what's going on.”

She sighed and pulled her knees up under her chin and watched him sleep.
